Welcome to Safekids Coalition Update November 2009
Warmest Greetings Coalitions,
Building and strengthening strategic alliances has been the critical focus for the
Safekids Campaign this past month. Often we see partnerships fail because it focused on what's
in it for me, rather than what's in it for us to work together. In this
challenging economic, political and changing time, the power of effective
partnerships is what will guide us in keeping our focus, consistency and a sense of
purpose.
Partnerships will help build the foundation for success in a multi-agency sector such as child
injury prevention. No organisation can do everything by itself, and alliances are powerful
means of enriching solutions and the value we provide to our consumers and audiences.
Kindest Regards,
Shar
Sharlaine Chee

New
Delivery Format for the Information and Planning Workshops 2010
The Safekids Campaign is in the process of
contacting Coalition Coordinators to book workshop dates for the national series of workshops
running from April to June 2010. After careful analysis of feedback from the 2009
workshops, we will trial a new delivery approach for 2010. The intention is to give
the local Coalition Coordinator the flexibility to deliver local initiatives.
Safekids will be working closer with
Coalition Coordinators in finding ways to localise information that caters to priorities relevant to
your community. Look out for an email from your local Coordinator. Once dates are
confirmed these will be available on our website.

Strategic Plan 2011-2016.
