The Safekids Campaign Information & Planning Workshop Series 2010/ 2011 have been scheduled in partnership with your local Coalition Coordinator.  The national campaign themes for 2010/2011 are:
  • Motor Vehicle Child Passenger Safety 
  • Child Burns Injury Prevention / Fire Safety

What Is a Safekids Information & Planning Workshop?
Safekids New Zealand, Tamariki Haumaru o Aotearoa 2010 national workshop series  is an opportunity for injury prevention practioners and workforces, community groups, volunteer services  and organisations to receive up-to-date  information, data and new resources, to actively network across sectors, to  engage in planning activities, develop joint strategies for community action to keep children (Tamariki) safe from unintentional injuries.
 
Who Can Attend?
Workshops are relevant to all practioners working with children (Tamariki) – and wanting to be linked with the latest information and resources and be involved in developing multi-sector networks. Safekids invites:
  • ACC Injury Prevention Consultants
  • B4 School Checks practioners
  • Car Seat Rental Scheme coordinators, managers and volunteers
  • Community leaders and decision makers
  • Community nurses, Practice nurses and Midwives
  • Community Safety and Health Coordinators
  • DHB Public Health clinicians and practitioners
  • Early Childhood Educators; Kohanga Reo and Pacific Language Nest Educators
  • Maori Health practioners
  • New Migrant services
  • New Zealand Fire Service including Maori Liaison Officers and Volunteers
  • New Zealand Police including Police Education Officers, Road Policing and community safety teams
  • Nursing students (University and Polytechnic Institutes)
  • Pacific Peoples service providers
  • Parenting and child care services
  • Plunket, Karitane,  Kaiawhina and other Well Child / Tamariki Ora Service Providers and Volunteers
  • Practioners in injury prevention, health promotion, population health and/or involved in child health
  • Practioners in  Local Government including road safety and school travel
  • Road Safety Co-ordinators
  • Safe2Go Trainers and Technicians
  • Social and Health Service Providers including social workers
